For the previous questions I've been doing, they've all been 3,4 subintervals so when I calculate the ''h'' in the formula I take n-1, eg. S42 for 3 sub-intervals 4-2/2 = 1 and the answers always correct. But now I do this question with 2 subintervals and it all seems stuffed up!

For 2 sub-intervals, the formula for Simpson's becomes:


h/3 [1 x f1 + 4 x f2 + 1 x f3]
