Should you write the date of the text? (1 Viewer)

Should you say 'Joseph Heller's 1961 novel Catch 22' etc? Or just not worry about the date, because mine looks a little bad because 3 of my texts are from 1961 and 1962, oops haha. I know i should've found ones which spanned the period more, but these ones worked best with what i was arguing.

My point is, will it be detrimental to my mark if i don't include the year? Thanks!

I don't think it's required however I've always considered it 'the thing to do'. Of the examples from BoS I read as well as other students in my school, the vast majority included the year.

Yeh it wont hurt at all.
Also having your texts from the same period almost certainly isnt a problem either so long as they relate well to your main and you can analyse them well etc.
