I dunno it wont last you long, may aswell go the extra grand for new peices (if it IS 2nd hand).

Doesnt look as though the MoBo can be upgraded very little, if at all. Durons are horrible, equivilant to Intels Celeron. Try and go for something else, but its not bad for the price.

durons arn't acctually that bad, they are much better than celerons for games (but similar for the rest of the stuff)

i would recomend getting an athon XP or wait for the semprons, cause durons will be phased out.

lol, sempron prices are already up, haven't been keeping up to date lately

buy ur parts new; build it urself; much cheaper:)

for reference; i'lll take prices from MSY

ABIT NF7-S mobo; should be around 130 not on MSY
XP 2500+ $115
generic 512 DDR 400 - $125 (note generic not good if u need better timings for overclocks)
W.D. 8M “JB” 120G HDD -$102
chuck in some gfx: GF FX5200-$95
Total without case: 567
Case- matter of choise. I doshed out just under 200 for a case.. beware of the cheap PSUs
windows- that doesn't cost money;)

It really depends on what you are after; what your budget is etc.

AMD is a much cheaper alternative, loud but cheaper.
the athon64's are quiet. and the prescott P4's are noisy

it is the old XP's that are lond and the northwood p4's that are quiet
