Hello. I am considering becoming a secondary teacher (History). I am looking at Bacholar of Arts/Humanities Education, I think. Could someone explain what exactly you do during your 4 year course. What do you think would be the best University for such a course?

i'm doing the BEd/BA at usyd. it's pretty cool. in first year you take 2 compulsory Education subjects and the rest you pick from the Arts faculty (i would assume that if you're smart you'll pick subjects that relate to what you want to specialise in). it goes for 5 years but you can graduate after 4 with BEd (but not the BA).
We do prac fairly late compared to other unis as far as i can tell. i think it begins in 3rd year. but i don't think that's a bad thing - being thrown into the deep end in first year is probably not a good idea. not too certain on what happens after first year in this course (i forget) but so far, so good. do it :uhhuh:

From my understanding as a student there, USyd has abandoned it in favour of a B Education double degree programme.
