Ok, So I've done much searching about BMed at Newcastle Uni.
I'm currently yr11, but thinking ahead.

The most accurate UAI cutoff I can find is 93 for 2004, is this correct?

Now, 93 is the cutoff. But I assume many people will try and go for it.
So realistically you WILL need a higher UAI to actually get in? Is this correct?

And I understand since it is my local (home) University I get 4 points for some reason.
So would this make the cutoff 89?

I'm unclear on these points. Please assist.

UAI wont matter so long as its >93.8. Umat and interview are very important. Not sure why you dont, prob cos it is low enough as it is.
Just some final questions:
What exactly is the whole deal with the UMAT exam and what is the purpose?
Also what is the purpose and content of the interview?

Thankyou.

Regional and Rural Preference Scheme

We have a Regional and Rural Preference Scheme which will award a bonus four UAI points, in the year the HSC is sat, to current NSW HSC students who attend schools within a defined postcode boundary. The scheme includes schools and TAFE colleges with postcodes in the Hunter, Central Coast, Central West, Northern Rivers, mid-North Coast, New England, Western Plains and Broken Hill mail centres. The scheme applies to all programs except the B Medicine or any combined degree. No application is necessary for this bonus.

Tracey Bristow said that you get a different cutoff, but not through the same system as the ones listed above. Rural students are admitted under a seperate category with a lower cutoff.
