i think the girl's uniform at penshurst girls get shorter every year, or its just the year 7 girls purchasing shorter dresses. your school and moorefield have a rivalry for an infamous cause. ;p
now that the juniors are allowed to wear the senior uniform (because the seniors all go to oatley), they buy the senior blue checkered skirt and alter the length to uber short.

i still think the penshurst senior uniform is much nicer than the oatley uniform =\ why can't we wear that

I have to agree with that, the Penshurst uniform is definitely nicer than the Oatley uniform. The Oatley uniform is so flexible though, coz they were aiming for a "corporate" look. You can wear any combination of different coloured shirts, pants and skirts. I don't like too much variety though, coz it doesn't look unified, which is the whole point of uniforms.

If you don't like your school uniform, get a group together and go to the deputy principal or principal and ask if you can change it. If your 'submission' is reasonable, they are likely to accept it.

yeah, it's always hard to tell if someone is from our school.

plus the amount of people wearing their own blue (different shade) shirts, black pants...it's un-unified as!

Penshurst wasn't too strict about uniforms either. When I went there, many girls in my year had a thing for wearing pink skivvies underneath the sky blue uniform shirt. The year 12's made fun of my year in there mock assembly by dressing like those girls!

There was also a thing for wearing form-fitting navy blue or even black (sometimes) pants with splits down the bottom, instead of the uniform pants.

Most girls got away with wearing stuff like that... It used to be more strict when I was in year 7. But that was probably just my pedantic teacher, who did a uniform check every roll call class :p

This is either happening after I left Penshurst or I'm just oblivious =p I seriously don't know what that's about...

Oh hey, cool! You're a fellow Penshurst girl! :)

Hahaha~ Yeah, Bronwyn's group... She was in the "cool" Skegg group. And she was new in year 9 or something...

You were in the last group of year 12's at PGHS! They still have those little boards that you guys made in the foyer just outside the assembly hall! I go back to visit Miss Mills once in a while with a couple of friends :)

I think my school (macarthur girls) has the worst junior uniform. The dress is blue and off-white plaited and it looks like a tablecloth. The rest is just black leather shoes and white socks. The senior uniform isn't that bad..its just a white shirt and blue skirt.

Haw-haw.

Wait until I show you all my school's uniform. The juniors wear red and orange tablecloth shirts, with royal blue tube skirts for girls and navy blue pants or shorts for boys.

Seniors wear hankerchief-white sheets for shirts and royal blue and red pleeted (sp?) skirts for girls and navy blue pants for the boys.

Even though our school fees are high, you wouldn't know it from the uniform.

My Uniform is pretty bad (OLSH). St Catherines has the worst, they look like they work at maccas. Also I wouldn't want to wear the Kinncoppal Uniform.
St Clares have the best senior Uniform

my school (hunter valley grammar) has an alright tartan pattern, but it is not complimented by the blue stocking or blue blazer :p
best and worst? dont really know "best", but worst has to be that boys' school that have to wear straw hats. i cant remember the rest, but the straw hats are revolting.

I haven't seen many uniforms from other schools, but from what I have seen, Newtown seems best cos they basically wear anything in the right colour. Other than that, my school is pretty good about uniform - they're starting to get stricter but they don't care about skirt length or proper socks or ironed shirts or crap like that.

My high school was deprived of a year 12 jersey (I blame the majority of useless prefects). But I did think our senior uniforms are cool. We just had black pants or green plaited skirt and white blouse, and guys wre just white shirts and grey pants. We also had green ties. We made green look good.

our uniform is alright... blue plaid skirt, white shirt. plain blue skirt 4 juniors. cant complain, especially when theres an anglican school near us that has the full uniform thing going: boater hats, dresses down 2 ur ankles, ties, blazers, the whole bit. lol they look so cultured on my afternoon bus next to us ferals who can get away with basically anything in school colours

What would you guys think if your school got rid of the uniform and you could wear what you wanted? Would it be better or worse?

I quite like it this yr the fact that I dont have to wear a uniform. I can just chuck on jeans and a tee and shoes & I'm out the door not fussing over my shirt and all the other crabby things you dou at school
