* Animal Farm - George Orwell
* The catcher in the rye - JD Salinger (for year 10... awesome!)
* William Wordsworth: selected poems and An imaginary Life by Malouf. Very tranquil and compelling works. Liked to learn about it and study for it for the exams.

I thought that Emma was really boring for the first few chapters but then i sort of worked out where the humour was comming from and then i started to love the book, although if you want to read Austen Pride and Prejudice is better, the action is a lot faster and she really builds up some good tension.
P.S. if you want to watch Emma the movie - don't bother with the Gwenith Paltrow version, the lesser known Kate Beckingsdale version is much better!

hmmm dont think i read any of the set texts from yr7-11 except maybe to kill a mockingbird which was really good

this year i really enjoyed
birthday letters
brave new world
even king Lear was ok

ext texts
the shipping news
heaney's poetry
were pretty good

and waiting for godot was brilliant
