As for my related matearial would the markers look down upon a debate, e.g Richard Dawkins/ John Lennox about religion. I think this debate definitely shows conflicting perspectives but would the techniques be there for my essay? Also do you think I could potentially lose marks from a marker who his heavliy baised e.g a super christian or super athiest?

I would personally find it harder to pull out the techniques, but that's just me.

What aspects of it are you looking to tie to Julius Caesar?

If you could talk with sophistication about that sort of debate, then go for it. You could use techniques they utilize in their debates (eg allusion, metaphor etc) as well as techniques specific to the debate format (eg rebuttal). You should be careful to not hark on simply about whether god exists or not. You will need to find some sort of slant like how their disparate position mirror contradictory views of the place of religion in society, of the purpose of faith and truth to the individual and community.
