I was wondering if anybody knew what raw marks you needed to achieve a band 6 or 5.

well we have a dude that use to teach at james ruse, and was a hsc cordinator in marking maths, he said 65% (or 78) would get u a band 6 or E4 without doubt... so there u guys go. in MX1 id assume ud need about 75% or mabey 80%. i no last year i would have got no more than 100 in 2u and i got 90. that is about 83% so 3u would have 2 be less.

I'm going to go over the 4u and 3u solutions from last year, so I'll post what raw marks I got and how they equated to aligned marks of 92 and 98 respectively.

I don't think last year you needed 85+ for band6. I would put myself at low 70's, but I'll check that out...

Hmm....70-74/120 aligning to 92 sounds pretty good :)

70-74 isn as easy as it sounds thou considering the last question avg about 1 in the state, so if realy need min 70/105 to get the band 6 id say. those freeky cunts get like 11-14 outta 15, not often do u get ppl getting 100% lol
Q8 isn't as bad as it seems. From memory, last year's Q8 had some parts that were doable for the average student. Often Q8 has small 1 or 2 mark parts that are simple derivations or proofs, so you can accumulate 3 or 4 marks quite easily. That said, I'm not expecting anymore than around 5-6/15 for Q8, if that.

Yes, how you do know exact raw marks? Where did you get the source?
