If I get the same mark as many other students in an internal exam though my ranking is worse what does this mean?

Did u do worse on other tasks? If it was one task and u got the same mark ur rank should be the same

that could just be if any other tests or tasks are counted towards your internals or not because if you got the same mark and it was only one task then the rank should be the same

This is my first internal so there is no other data. My mark is the 7th highest though my rank is not 7th.

Oh. That’s cause other people above u tied so say 2 people got the highest mark, then the 2nd highest mark would be ranked 3rd

Then maybe ask ur teacher to check cause maybe they stuffed up ur marks or ranks when they were putting it in at the back end

oh that might be the case since i got ranked out of 95 students so id asume the ranks range from 1-95 with each being unique.

The amount of people in ur cohort stays the same no matter how many people tie. So each one shouldn’t be unique unless no one tied

Yes. But everyone who got the same mark as u should have the same rank as u
