For conics, is there any property that you cannot take for granted in the exam? What about normals/tangents, do you need to derive their equation if not asked? What about different properties, such as PS + PS' = 2a etc?

Tangents etc you have to derive them. I know you can commit to memory the equation of the chord of contact. Although, most questions I've seen ask you to derive it/give it anyway.

EDIT: Unless it says it is given ...... [DO NOT PROVE THIS]
