Well im REALLY interested in the Design course at COFA although, im not sure if i'll get the UAI to get in (which is 89.something), personally i think having a UAI cut-off for any degree relating to art is stupid. I think it should purely go on interview/audition like that you are able to show case your talent. See, i know i have the ability and talent to be a designer but what happens if i don't get the UAI to get in? Does anyone know of any alternate entries into the Design Course at COFA or if they are flexible with the cut-off??

Also, if anyone is doing the Design course there is it any good??

:D

You should speak to COFA about the possibility of transferring from a similar (lower cut off) course.

design is great

1st year is basically focused on stuff like skills relating to modelmaking (using foam core, balsa wood, perspex etc) and helping you learn how to develop concepts and put your ideas into a 3D form. the theory stuff u have to do is even pretty interesting.

there is HEAPS of work to do tho and everyone thinks ure really odd coz ure always carrying around random stuff...like helmets made out of paper....that was an interesting one - and harder than ud think.

its a really good course tho coz it gives a really good background then u specialise so u get more of an idea what area of design u wanna go into
