so.. we start uni on teh 27th of febuary.. if we have monday off on our timetable do we still need to go on that monday.. is it necessary to?

nope. if you have no classes on monday thenthere's no need to go to uni (unless you wanna hang out there)

I think the biggest thing for the new first year's will be the "omg there's so many people" feeling on their first day - and that's usually the monday

Yes, I bet 30,000+ odd people will be intimidating to some.
