sorry (bimbo alert) i havnt began studying for english at all so whats the difference between the two? i.e. whats a production and whats a reading?

A production in reference to a play is the actual staging of it as a play. A reading is just reading a script out loud (ie no costumes, acting etc). However if you were looking at different readings of a play or text, it could mean the different ways it is read from different pespectives e.g. a feminist reading, a marxist reading...

well actually im still confused...if a reading is feminist...can the production be also? i was reading HSC examiners notes and they said many students couldnt differentiate between the production/reading and i realised that im one of them :(
