I don't know why, but I keep getting the wrong answer.

Find the equation of the tangent to the curve y = e^x + 1 at (1, 1+e)

I do...

At x = 1, y' = e.
y - (e+1) = e(x-1)
y - e - 1 = ex - e
y = ex + 1

The answer is y = e^x + 1 though..

Any help?

A tangent is a straight line, y = ex is not a straight line, so the answer is wrong.

y=e^x+1
y'=e^x at (1,1+e)
when x=1, y'=e
y-y1=m(x-x1)
y-(1+e)=e(x-1)
y-1-e=ex-e
y-1=ex
y=ex+1
