For those ecmt notes, where it talks about maths of finance, shouldn't the future value formula be P(1+r)^n and not P(1+r)^-n?? Sorry if I'm wrong, I suck at math.

Yes, you sure do. Whilst i have no read the notes that formula is correct.

oh...i thought for present value it was p = s(1+r)^-n and future value s = p(1+r)^n..or maybe it makes no difference..
