Pharmacology is different to Pharmacy. I forget how, but they're different.

Charles Sturt has Pharmacy too. If you don't mind travelling to Wagga Wagga. I think.

BMedSci (Honours) in Pharmacology would probably be the closest thing to Pharmacy that you'd get without actually doing it. So I suppose if you didn't get into USYD's BPharm you could always do BMedSci for a year somewhere and then transfer.

This is all the BPharm's in the country:
# Bachelor of Pharmacy - Charles Darwin University (CDU)
# Bachelor of Pharmacy - Charles Sturt University (CSU)
# Bachelor of Pharmacy - Curtin University of Technology
# Bachelor of Pharmacy - James Cook University (JCU)
# Bachelor of Pharmacy - La Trobe University
# Bachelor of Pharmacy - Monash University
# Bachelor of Pharmacy / Bachelor of Commerce - Monash University
# Bachelor of Pharmacy - Queensland University of Technology
# Bachelor of Pharmacy - University of Queensland
# Bachelor of Pharmacy - University of South Australia
# Bachelor of Pharmacy - University of Sydney
# Bachelor of Pharmacy - University of Tasmania
# Bachelor of Pharmacy - Rural - University of Sydney

Pharmacology- Study of the affect of substances on the body

Pharmacy- Study of the affect of substances on the body and clinical dispensing of medication

what they do?
Pharmacology- medical scientist that specialise in drug affects on the body.. so ure a scientist that does lab work

Pharmacy - a professional degree necessary to work as a pharmacist and/or own a dispensary (e.g. hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy).... their job is to prepare and provide medication to the community.. both prescription and pharmacy only drugs and associated advise.. they also provide other services
- this degree is also a basic science degree + clinical experience.. so basically u can become a medical scientist too.

lol, respect is 'shyt' for doctors. Sorry, but I disagree, just a little.
the patients i observe.. internet everything.. and talk down to my supervisors..

respect is not the same from all ppls.. and compared to the 'good ole days' its alot less.. I know that respect in the community is lower too..

just dun expect it.. u may get it.. but dun expect it.. or ull be disappointed..

tho honestly studying medicine is its own reward..

Pharmacy is a great career tho in terms of flexibility =)

Newcastle Uni has a "masters of pharmacy" that you can do on the completion of a degree such as B Biomedical science. After 5 years you would have a Bachelors degree and a masters if you didnt want to go to Sydney uni. Plus, if after 3 years you change your mind and decide you'd like to do research or something, you still have a degree that says you can.

Little shallow perhaps?
Hey you'll find I defend Accounting a lot and promote its good aspects.

Unfortunately in the community, Accounting to Law is what Pharmacy is Medicine.

Less respected, less prestigious, people think you're either dodged or a TAFE grad.

Yeah, it's mainly the study of medicine that's satisfying. And lol at the 'internet everything' comment--my pharmacy lecturers were like: 'and there is an increasing trend for your patients to have interneted x, y, z and you will have to correct them on it (if necessary), and you may encounter just more than a few patients who haven't seen a doctor yet who have approached you for 'help', i.e. 'confirmation' that their self-diagnosis from the internet is correct, or interneted because they don't trust their doctors, etc. How sad--doctors deserve more respect than that, though I won't say no to a little respect of my own as a pharmacist ;)

I'm seriously considering a Law career instead because I am insecure and I need to feel respected and loved.
