Oh god I'd agree with that. I think the country music genre should be murdered. Especially shannon noll.

My faves:

Thom Yorke (Radiohead)

Maynard James Keenan (Tool and A Perfect Circle)

Bjork - One of the hardest voices to emulate because It's so distinct.

Chino Moreno (Deftones)

Chris Cornell (Soundgarden and now Audioslave)

as much as I can't stand her, Anastacia has a pretty unique and powerful voice

Karen Carpenter had by far the most pure, deep, velvety voice with undertones of melancholy and sadness. No one has ever come close to replicating that.

Bryan Ferry has an unusual voice- yearning, aching langour. Mesmerising.

Well, I feel like Im probably just going to repeat what other people have said, but here goes:
Matt Bellamy from Muse (Just listen to the song 'Micro Cuts' and you'll understand where im coming from)
Thom Yorke from Radiohead
Jeff Buckley
Beck
Jim Morrison from The Doors
Bob Dylan (No mentions yet!! What's going on? I love the fact that his voice can sound so different in some recordings)
Caleb Followill from the Kings of Leon (Definately an unusual voice - in a good way - you can hardly understand what he's singing)
Ryan Adams
Paul Banks from Interpol

And for females? Cat Power definately!! Her voice is just amazing.

Oh! I nearly forgot. The lead singer of Sigur Ros has a voice that can transcend language barriers - I feel like I can understand every emotion that he sings

:uhhuh: :uhhuh:. There's a special on TV at the moment. It reminds me how much I actually like his music.
