yeah alright fair enough. the extra 5 exams can be quite demoralising btw, keep in mind but dont worry everyone finds it difficult. but those ranges arent too shabby especially given the consistency.

and Mach_1, it really depends on how many drills you've done so far.

Yeah, I'll definitely be able to finish the section 3 and maybe even the section 2 drills. I don't really plan on finishing the section 1 drills, they haven't really helped me much. The problem solving questions can have tricks to them sometimes but I think its more up to me to see them on the day and the questions in exams should be enough in my opinion. But yeah, I'll definitely try to do as much as I can in the holidays.

I need help. did 4th medentry exam today and got 77%ile.
s1 and s3 were both 85%ile while s2 was 37%ile. what would be a good estimate of the overall percentile if all sections were 85%ile?

What were your raw scores. Both individual sections and overall. Might be a better indicator to give you an overall Percentile

s1 = 38/48
s2 = 24/44
s3 = 30/42
overall = 92/134

I mean that score in the real exam would be around low 90s to high 80s in term of percentile. However your s2 might be under 50th percentile. But the remaining ones are really Good. Keep up the good work.

s2 is largely dependent on the day. and how you are feeling hence its extremely precarious. dont worry about it too much. that s1 in the real exam would most likely be in the 99-100th percentile.
s3, would be around 85th -90th

i did umat last year...can confirm s2 is hit or miss. I always got like 50th percentile or less in medentry for s2 and ended up getting 85-90th percentile for s2 in real umat.
If your doing really well in s1 and s3 youll be fine for the real umat too

what are your thoughts on ME s1 and s3, in regards to the actual umat. easier or harder?

overall in medentry 60-70th percentile usually but i had a lot that were sub 50 too
in the real umat got 87th percentile with a shit s1 and decent s2 and s3

when you say shit s1 do you mean under 50? cause my s1 isnt looking that brilliant.
and any idea what your raw scores were kind looking like in medentry (?/134)
finally in the actual umat which was your best section ( and what percentile did you get)

in the real umat my s1 was 60
raw scores were probs 80-90
real umat best was s2 87ish percentile

No point being worried tbh the umat changes considerably each year and even if you performed badly on medentry like i did your still ahead of the majority attempting umat
plus luck plays quite a big role on the day too. Just keep practicing and you should be fine.

Second time doing umat.
Last year i actually studied for it properly, was getting ~90%ile in most of the medentry tests absolutely bombed the s2 in the real umat, got 44.
Im redoing it but dont really care about it since im already in uq provisional. Literally started studying for umat 3 days ago (did 1 test per day) and got 99%ile on all of them...
wtf its as if when u dont care u get good but when u care u do trash.......

Just adding my 2 cents here since I'm one of the people who took the medentry exams under exam conditions and with honesty (3hrs and with no dictionary) and was getting around 70-85% for most of the exams. If these actually translated into my actual UMAT score I would have received no interview offers from any university (other than USYD) even with my ATAR so looking back now the common advice of adding '15-20%' to your score on medentry is pretty legit and accurate as it accounts for: 1. Cheaters (Dictionary/Time) and 2. A really skewed Medentry cohort of people who are better prepared than the actual UMAT cohort

Also in the umat I thought i was running out of time and was rushing and guessing all my s1 and s3 and ended up with 15 mins to spare at the end which meant I didnt do as well (still got a mark of 68 for both of them but was expecting higher tbh)
overall split was 68/44/67
