Blue.
Black always looks messy, and although examiners fin it easier to read, I find it much more difficult. I've tried writing with black in exams to please my english teacher, but since all my notes are in blue, it is distracting. And then my ancient teacher said to write in blue, anyway.

Whichever pen I pull out of my pencil case first that's not red or a pencil.

At the moment, blue, since all my blacks have died.

Black. Works better with highlighters. Also, there are many different kinds of blue pen, so if I lost a blue pen and had to use another, the colours would be mucked up. There is only one black, and it is black.
Yeah i know what you mean about the blue pens. Every brand of pen has a different shade of blue...some almost green. Still i prefer blue.

blue kilometricos.... cheap and trusty... although they kinda change colour when youve been using them a while and they also start leaking and getting all gross and stuff at the end of their lives....

This is true, but black kilometricos are the worst for fading and the like.

But the pink ones are really really awesome.

I do this all the time. My english teacher said to me a couple of months ago, "you know, I was really happy reading the blue ink in your essay. But then three quarters of the way through the blue ink suddenly became black. And I didn't like your essay so much any more."

Not that this really bothered me, I still do it.
