Is the hole actually positively charged? Or is it "positively" charged relative to the negatively charged electrons around it.

Well. The hole is technically netural. So its "positively" charged relative to the negatively charged electrons around it.

yeh, its positive enough for the electrons to be attracted to it
or something like that? i should really study more for physics

P-type's are Positive-type semiconductors. They get their name because the extra gap they have is positively charged. Does that answer your question?

Never say positive or negative semiconductors. You will be immediatly marked wrong. Talk about the dominant means of current passing.

neither p or n type have a charge

p have a hole, so when an electron enters the hole, it becomes negativly charged, and likewise n type

The previous dude was right, P type and N type semiconductors have NO CHARGE!!!!! the positive and negative terms apply to the means by which the conduct electric current. The p type doped semiconductor conducts through creation of positive holes, where as the N typed conducs through a sea of delocalised electrons due to the fact the silicon is dopes with group 5 elements which leaves one surplus electron to be put in the conduction band, thus NEGATIVE
