i literally studied 2 subjects during this 6 week holiday last year lol. can't believe it has already been a year
i reckon dedicate one week to each subject, then spend the last week revising everything
im dropping a subject and im going away for a week so this works out! i like this idea, i really need to get on the ball for hsc (since my parents said theyre not letting me drop out)

If it makes you feel any better, I did fuck all during my 6-week break, and still went well in hsc. What I would do is the following:

1. Get your notes up to date. For example, assuming you've finished a module for bio - update the notes for that module, so that you know you could read them, and understand anything. This is the time to fill in any knowledge gaps. Do that for every subject. Given you've only done 1 term, it should be doable without too much time allocated towards it.
2. Read you english texts. I know they're all boring as fuck, but just read them.
3. Draft your 1st english adv essay for the topic u did. Send it to ur teacher for feedback. Repeat until its a b6 level. Its easier said than done, but TRUST me, having a solid essay is absolutely golden. I made the mistake of not finalising my essay's until after trials, which was awful

AND IMPORTANTLY; REST! Dont put heaps of pressure on yourself to be studying 24/7. Take days to just relax and enjot the break.

6 week school holidays are coming up... advice to make an academic comeback and NOT fail y12?
DO NOT hyperfocus on one subject. Spread it out over the holiday but put primary focus on english (it will make or break ur 98+ atar). Try not to spam questions. Understand the reasoning as to why you approach a question in whatever way to get the final answer. Thoroughly review your mistakes and rinse and repeat.

what if youre not allowed bc it 'gives you an unfair advantage'?
what. But that's up to the student to give in drafts cause they want to improve and if other students don't that's on them and it's not unfair cause they have the same opporuntiy to hand in drafts. Teachers who do that are prob lazy to mark cause that makes no sense. My teacher encourages us to hand in stuff and literally says thank u when we do.

I mean I get it if it's for an assignment, but for an exam where u don't know what the question will be it should be fine

that's so bad. U should tell them that the reason why ur school isn't getting enough band 6s is cause they don't let u guys hand in practice drafts lol. Like that's so unfair and it's not actually a disadvantage for ur school. So ur saying that u never do practice tasks or drafts? My teacher makes it compulsory and we do at least 3 a term. I would literally make my mod c a persuasive piece on the stupidity of ur school's eng department and why they should let u guys hand in drafts lol

my guy a 98 atar is NOT the goal 😭 i go to a school which had 0 b6's in 2024 an atar that high is unheard of. i'd be thrilled with an atar of 89.

out of everything, i actually really like english and if i were to b6 anything, it'd be english. i dont have the opportunities nor the resources to take 4u english (as stated earlier, schools so bad it got 0 b6's in 2024) but i honestly feel really grateful i even have the opportunity to take eng adv. therefore i will put my fair share of time into eng, thanks.

For most people Eng is the subject we’re least likely to band 6 lol
