it says that he is the Union National President

i thought he was just the union president of UTS..

He's not this year, a new person was elected so maybe he got a new job?

I think he is the President of the Union Groups of all universities. The Union Groups of each uni must meet up somewhere- thats probably how they organised group protests on VSU last year.
