So i've finalised all my units for first year B.Com. planning to major in finance and do the professional accrediation program for accounting.

Semester 1:
ACCT1001
CLAW1001
ECMT1010
ECO1001

Semester 2:
ACCT1001
ECON1002
INFS1000

I can either choose a subject for semester one or two since I can move ECMT1010 into semester 2 as well (atleast I think i can)
Does anyone have any suggestions of what I should do to fill this unit up?

But erm ECMT 1020 isn't necessary anymore for a CPA OR a CA. Do CLAW 2001 (Corporations Law) in 2nd semester as it is required for both (and your 1st yr will be identical to mine last yr).

And CA is generally considered better/more prestigious because it's longer and has more practical elements than a CPA (this is apparently even admitted by the CPA program itself so it's a no brainer). And the unit codes have changed so dramatically because of the standardisation of 2nd and 3rd yr subjects this yr to 6 cp's (they were 8) to fall in line with international standards.

I did it in Semester 2.

@threadstarter...have u considered doing an Arts Subject.

Also, DON'T DO CLAW1002, there's no point...if ur gonna do it, do CLAW2101 instead.
i dont understand why are you against CLAW 1002? whats so bad about it? if i do CLAW2101 i have to do that in the 2nd year right? so i have to do something else in sem 2?

Dont listen to stas. Look at the major list and find out want you want to major in. You dont have to decide now. Do it at the end of semester. Then do that. Dont waste electives.

Because CLAW 1002 isn't a req for any major or accreditation program. You can do CLAW 2001 after completing the pre-req (CLAW 1001) so it's not limited to 2nd yrs.

If you like maths do ECMT1020 if not, do CLAW1002. But dont even consider INFS because it is pointless.
