they were really good. great songs, great boy/girl harmonies, lots of lefty tirades from mackaye, which means he's a real musician, and stuff.

and only 15 bucks! you'd have to be pretty damn broke to not be there. which you apparently are. sorry, then. :(

also, i found out dave kilgour, who's supporting yo la tengo tomorrow, is the lead singer from the clean! man, that rules.

yes, i am really poor :( i have $6, just enough for a train ticket to the city, until i get paid on friday! is it true rollins was there tonight?

yeah, i guess. i mean, i was more really satisfied than blown away, which is sometimes better.

fwiw, i was the dude with the white smiths shirt, nervously standing on the right from the stage in the centre of the hall and waiting for someone i knew to show up, to little avail. :(

^ march 10 at the basement.

vashti was really great. i was a bit hesitant on spending $40 on the ticket, but it was totally worth it. pretty small crowd, but everyone was really into it and vashti just seemed really grateful to be playing for us. played stuff from both albums and told us stories in between songs. one of the highlights was when she let her accompanists play their own solo songs. real pretty

and OH MAN YO LA TENGO!!! 2 HOURS OF BLISS!!! AND DAVE KILGOUR FROM THE CLEAN JOINED THEM AT THE END TO PLAY A CLEAN SONG AND AN ARTHUR LEE COVER!!! EXCEPT THEY DIDN'T PLAY CHERRY CHAPSTICK, WHICH WAS TOO BAD!!! BUT IT'S OK, COS THEY PLAYED NEARLY EVERYTHING ELSE THAT I WANTED THEM TOO!!! AND I STILL MADE MY BUS ON TIME!!! LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Anyone going to see Paramore in April?

April 6th at the Big Top, Luna Park.

Well, they're playing with New Found Glory who I don't actually like, but as I mentioned to a friend, I'd go see the Wiggles for Paramore.

ooh, i saw her in newcastle on wednesday night..first time i've seen her at an 'intimate' gig and she performed so well (of course)..enjoy :)
