These ranks kind of depend on ur school/quality of your classmates

Example - me 2005 HSC
English Adv. 31/116 school ass.87, hsc mark 87 > final mark 87
English Ext 1. 28/56 school ass. 41/50, hsc mark 44/50 > final mark 43/50
English Ext. 2 9/18 school ass.=43/50, hsc mark 34/50 > final mark 39/50
Business Studies 9/34 school ass. 88, hsc mark 83 > final mark 86
Modern History 20/29 school ass. 79, hsc mark 85 > final mark 82
Visual Arts 3/18 school ass. 92, hsc mark 96 > final mark 94

This shows that school ranks can drag your marks down slightly, e.g. 85 in history brought to 82 due to average ranking, good art mark brought down a little by ranking (performance of others lol). Conversely, business studies rank at school boosted poorer hsc mark.

Average-ish rankings, good solid selective school > 92.00 (fairly solid)

Good luck 06ers, see you next year!~

so are the ranks i have supposed to be identical to the ones in my semester 2 report? (my sem 2 report has overall ranks)

because in business my rank dropped one spot. lol. should i just ignore it

oops, another question: when you click on your enrolment details... under 'our records indicate' it says:

You have indicated that you expect to receive the Higher School Certificate this year.
You are an Australian Citizen.
You have not responded to the question on Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander origin.

it's not supposed to include anything about getting a UAI right? because i said on the form ages ago that i am getting a UAI.

Don't worry about rankings too much-getting normal ranks at a good selective school or one of the better comprehensive schools is better than getting high ranks at a not so good school- besides as long as u get into ur course i don't see what the big deal is.

Hmm some people seemed shocked about their ranks. However didn't everyone get their ranks on their final report I did hence why I am not shocked about my ranks as they exactly what they should be. Plus if people didn't know the ranks sent off then how would they be able to know if they are wrong?
This is exactly what i complained about, our new principal this year refused to give us our ranks which many teachers protested about, so there's no way to know if there are any mistakes.

How are there more people doing IPT than Advanced English at your school, Shin? :p

2006:
Drama: 4/16
Modern History: 1/4
Extension History: 1/3
Music 1: 2/8
Philosophy: not ranked

2005:
English Advanced: 3/22
English Extension 1: 2/7

I'm happy with those.

yeah we didnt get our ranks either. i guess if something seems obviously not correct, like you were doing fabulously in a subject and you get ranked near the bottom, then you would know something is up. but other than that you have no idea *sigh* lol.
