Hi Clive
Want to do more than just watch? Have you ever wanted to get experience behind
the scenes?
Thanks to everyone who has responded thus far! But for all those who haven’t
jumped on board yet…
UNU will be holding around 30 events during 2005. This is your chance to learn
more about the events and entertainment industry, or use the opportunity to
satisfy your course requirements in a fun way!
We need UNU CREW to help us conceptualise, plan, implement and coordinate a
variety of events from Band Competitions to Alternative Health Weeks to a huge
Blues Festival. You can choose to get experience in…
· Publicity & Marketing
· Production (sound & lighting)
· Design
· Event Coordination
· Customer Service
· More!
UNU CREW offers a number of other benefits:
· Training & professional development
· Official social events
· Certificates and references
· Networking with peers from other faculties
· More!
What’s involved?
First, we need to get you trained up so you can participate to the best of your
ability. Initial training is held over two days. Specialised training will be
organised on Day 2 to cover people’s area of interest.
Training:
Day 1 - Communication & Leadership Training
Date: Tuesday 8 February 2005
Time: 9.30 - 4.00pm
Communication and Leadership are the two most important skills in today's
workplace. By participating you will enhance your skills in communication and
leadership and you will increase your employability. You'll learn how to
approach people you've never met, and become more aware of how to observe and be
tactful of other people's cultural practices. You'll meet many of the other
prospective UNU CREW over a day of activities and lots of fun!
Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon snacks are provided with loads of lollies and
all materials are supplied. Wear something comfy.
Day 2 – UNU Induction
Date: Wednesday 9 February 2005
Time: 9.30am – about 2.00pm
As a team member of UNU CREW you're going to get asked lots of questions,
particularly during Orientation Week. What are the best answers? At Training Day
2 you'll receive all the dates and information you need to answer questions and
get to see everyone you met at the first training day again. You'll go on a
campus tour and learn some of the secret paths at Uni-New. We’ll cover the
safety stuff like OHS and personal safety, so be prepared for a very full day
where you'll learn lots. But don't worry, we'll keep your energy levels high
with lots of lollies and lunch, tea and coffee. After two days of training you
deserve a break. So join in the BBQ on Wednesday afternoon.
Orientation & Events
When you’re trained up and ready to go we agree on your involvement in
Orientation Week (you don’t have to do the entire week) but agree on the event
that you will provide assistance on. There are a ton of events to choose from.
