Is anyone here doing nursing at tafe other than me?

What do you think of it?

Do you want to continue the course?

Do you want to be a nurse?

I wanted to .... well ... okay, let me reword that! If I don't make it in to uni, I would prefer to do nursing at TAFE so that I could get in to Uni

Yeah its like a special thing, they look to see that you've done it, the more chance you have of getting in anyways.

The only problem is, they knocked back about 30% of nurses wanting to go to UNI for either enrolled or registered

i don't think they will anymore with the government increasing the number of nursing and teacher spots because of shortages

Thats what they said last year, and 30% of people got knocked back, the government really need to get their priorities right.

I think they are starting to relise that now but they are still slow.
Those 30% people should deserve a place cause if you are good enough than you should have a spot. But with supply and demand that will properly never happen.

Maybe thoes 30% who applied for Nursing really shoud not have gotten in.. I mean, sure we have a shortage, but you can just have any nutbag becoming a Nurse, there needs to be some kind of Standard.. just my opinion.. ;)

I remember UWS saying that they met the selection criteria for entry but not the funding for them.

Since i finish this yr (2007) im planning to go ultimo tafe to do enrolled nursing
if i go really good in this course and i finish it .. then i might go on to get another degree still at ultimo to do veterinary nurse
so that way i have 2 diploma's
then i will decide which one i like and if i choose enrolled nurse then i will
go to UTS to do registered nurse
Can someone please give me advice on doing a nursing course at ultimo tafe? thanks
