In your answer in comprehension [section 1] there is no need to repeat the q in your answer such as
What is the journey shown in....
answer: the journey shown is...

you can just go straight to the answer right?
What do most people do?
or most importantly, what are markers looking for?

alot of standard do better than advanced in this exam because advanced students try to make more out of the questions than is needed. simple answers that cover what they ask in a straight forward manner, I think is best.
repeating the question i always do. it doesnt take excessive time!

The markers are simply looking for what they asked! " Show TWO techniques the composer used to emphasise the mood of the journey "

write. " in this text the composer used "insert technique here" , "insert quote", and "insert how this emphasises mood"
then move to the second technique!

hopefuly this helps.. cos its what im doing!

Well it depends if it's asking you to identify or explain/evaluate.
If it's identify just write what you had up there.
Else, I'd go 'This text explores the idea of the journey being a pain in the rectum through it's use of anal probe and co. Thus implying that the journey is challenging and not without obstacles.''
