Is it alright if I choose a newspaper article for a related text for history and memory?

Maybe gather a collection of them and compare them. Much like an anthology of poems is treated like a single text.

I'm doing a similar thing for Conflicting Perspectives.

I've already chosen a documentary as 1 related text and have found a newspaper article which I think is perfect for history and memory.
