Dip in Science, Engineering and Technology
University of New South Wales

UAC Code: 425030

This diploma program has been designed by the Faculties of Engineering and Science as an enabling program that provides a flexible pathway for students who have a range of gaps in their assumed knowledge and do currently not meet the entry requirements for B Engineering or B Science at UNSW. Students who achieve a credit average in the Dip SET will be permitted to transfer to B Engineering and B Science programs in the Faculty of Engineering and will be eligible for advanced standing for courses successfully completed that form part of the Bachelor program. Those enrolling in the Dip SET with the intention of seeking admission to a Bachelor of Engineering program must undertake the Mathematics and Physics sequences.

To be competitive for entry to the Dip SET applicants must have a UAI or equivalent of 75.00. Applicants with a UAI or equivalent between 75.00 and 87.95 will be considered for entry under the Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS). See www.eng.unsw.edu.au/feas for details. More detailed information on the structure of the Diploma is available at
http://www.eng.unsw.edu.au/prospect/ug/dipset/index.htm.

What a stupid idea

"Students who achieve a credit average in the Dip SET will be permitted to transfer to B Engineering and B Science programs "

you dont get credit you cant do engineering

You have a greater chance doing engineering at uws and then transfering next yr

But USNW won't make money off people studying at UWS for that one year Musk :p
think PROFIT!! ^_^

As I understand it, if you get a credit average you are guaranteed a position in Engineering at UNSW. If you get a pass average you will be considered and likely to get in but not guaranteed. There are no guarantees if you go to another University. It may not be for everyone but it is another option.

what ever happened to just doing a bridging course?
If you get above 88 you still do a bridging course.

The diploma is also for mature entry.
