Need help with Year Over Year (YOY) (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone, I've been asked to do some YOY calculations at my vocational work but haven't learned how to do so at Uni yet. Can someone kindly upload some lecture notes or links about this topic?

I always thought it was Year on Year.

you compare figures with last year in the same period
ie 3rd quarter this year with 3rd quarter last year
