I've been looking into doing a Bachelor of Economics at Sydney Uni (because it's the only uni I can find that offers the Political Economy major in Economics), and there are 2 majors I'm interested in: Political Economy and Finance.

Is it possible to do those 2 majors as well as the compulsory Economics major?

Or I could go with a BComm/B Social Science at USyd or UNSW or something like that and just do Political Economy and Finance without the Economics...but I want to do Economics...

I'm confused.

If you want to study Political Economy and Finance at usyd you would not be able to do it within the Bachelor of Economics program, as there is a compulsory economics or econometrics major - the option to do all three (political economy, economics and finance) does not exist as you would exceed the credit point limit.

The course you would be looking to do, given those two majors is the Bachelor of Economic and Social Sciences - http://www.econ.usyd.edu.au/course/FH025. Though there is some compulsory politics or industrial relations units that you must do - but otherwise its not too restrictive. But if you want the major in Economics as well, perhaps consider Commerce Liberal Studies, http://www.econ.usyd.edu.au/course/FH019, this would allow you to major in all three areas.

I would suggest to you economics degree at UNSW for finance and economic history - that seems to be the most political major I can think of in the UNSW school of economics. Sydney Uni are well known for their alternate views on economics if you know what I mean (I tried so hard to write this without taking a pot shot at USYD - honestly great UNI).

I would say that in Arts at UNSW you would be able to study Political Studies or something like that. Have a look at the degree and the major sequences. Note: this is a five year degree.

Also since this was in the handbook have a looksy at it, looks okay - its economics liberal studies. ACTUALLY THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT!!!! GO UNSW
