Hi y'all, I've recently failed my second maths assessment task, based on me rushing over some of the questions in the 45 minutes that I was given to answer them.

I'm just curious to see how or if this'll effect my grades later on in Year 11 cause my rank was really high (top 10 IIRC) for the past exam and now it's probably gonna drop.

Basically, yeah, your rank will probably drop.
Did anyone else have trouble? You might find that others in your class also struggled?
But the best plan of action is to study:

1. Make sure you know where you went wrong
2. Study in advance before the next test using past papers, and if you're not doing all questions in each topic try revising some of the more difficult ones that you haven't previously done.

Do u know how much the assessment weighed? Since its only ur second one you still have time to get better marks in any future assessments so that it won't affect you too much

Thanks for your responses- the test only was around 30% of the overall year avg. So yeah!

To further answer any questions- yes I did take past papers, albeit not under timed conditions. So I am optimistic that I can do better moving forward...

Also, remember that year 11 marks, while useful for early entry, don't have any bearing on hsc results. So don't stress out about a bad mark in yr 11
