Gemma stacks four blocks, each a different colour, on top of another to create a tower

How many different towers can she make if she puts all four blocks in a different order each time?

Since there are four combinations, you do: 4!

A.K.A.: 4x3x2x1 = 24

Answer is D) 24.

Well let's assume she begins stacking from the bottom. She has 4 different blocks she can pick. Then for each tower she has 3 for the next level, then 2 then 1.

Therefore the answer is 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 24
