Yea they got it from the question before hand (83c) where you had to find the area of the hexagon :)

okay look
area of the hexagon is: area of the rectange + area of both triangles
now area of rectangle is 5*3 = 15 (AE= AX+EX = 2.5*2 = 5)
area of the triangles is = 1/2 * base *height *2 (since there are two triangles)
= bas *height = ae * fx = 5 *3.12=15.6
area of hexagon = 15.6 + 15 =30.6
