I didn't say it was right or wrong, and regardless, if he pleads temp. insanity, and gets it, he'll be thrown in an institution, some of which can be just as punishing. I really have no stance on whether it's right or wrong in general, because it comes down to the circumstances. What is this insanity? A schizoaffective attack, or just some run of the mill anxiety? Etc etc.

The guy is accepting he did it, and that he's guilty, so you'd think he'd plead guilty (edited: re-read article)
Besides, if the guy has accepted that he is guilty and what he has done is wrong, the courts will laugh out a plea of temporary insanity/diminished responsibility because he has clearly demonstated at least a small degree of understanding. If he accepts that he is guilty, same story, because you can't think of yourself as guilty without having committed a bad thing.

he's actually mentally strange - like he cant think straight.
and if you look at the other stories that have been written about it...they will say that the people that used to work around him told him to get help coz hes not right...

may be the guy was just the opportunity that he needed.... to do what???!!! (beats me)

I think when people hear 2nd degree murder they think it's a lesser charge.
It's not. 2nd degree in America still carries a life sentence dude. It just means there wasn't intent, or a plan or you know.
I know you think he had intent coz he had to think about taking a knife on board and stabbing him dead, but the crime wasn't planned against this person (as far as we know), it was just senseless and random.

Hence second degree. But second degree in no way means it's a lesser crime than if he had spent 3 weeks planning the shit.

I don't really care what it's called, it's fucking disturbing  :/ :/ Although I had to laugh just a little bit at the image that sprang to mind of him waving the guy's head around like a psycho

I was watching a video of the man being escorted to a prelimiary hearing, or the equivalent in Canada, and the man didn't appear to be psychotic. He seemed depressed, didn't appear to be a psycho. Then again, appearance and reality are two different things.

So tired of reading "big Rambo knife" with inverted commas in all of these articles.
