please

i have two and a half weeks to do my major project.

i cant think of anything to do for it

ideas anyone??

Do you have a criteria to meet? What languages are you familiar with and what type of programs have you written before?

not particularly good with any language havent really made anything before.. lol its terrible i know..

using visual basic

Whats some of the programs in your class making? It can give a good idea of the complexity to look at...but seeing you've got 2 weeks....

You should allow yourself only a week and a half to write the program, and the rest to write the documentation.

theres two of us in the class other girl is repeating so shes done it pretty much before

is doing some type of medical diagnosis thing you know got a sore stomach? lower right or something could be appendicitis..

she's writing an expert system? or something similar?

hmm.... maybe write a small game or something

Well....if you're really into a quick and easy thing, my suggestions would be:

- address books
- text editors
- simple drawing program

These are easy to do in VB and should only take at most 2 or 3 days to write.

So you've got no ideas in mind?? At least when you've got an idea you can start and get help if you get stuck, rather than waste time pondering what to do..

nah you learn about them in option 1
basically a bunch of yes/no or multiple choice q's... depending on what answers you give it can deduce, for example, what disease you have based on the symptoms you tell it you have. doubt you want to learn vb and medicine in 2 wks, but you could code an expert system shell for something else... buggered if i'd know what though...

well like to find out who who's parents, whether your a descendent of a particular person or something.....

thats pretty easy using prolog....

Anyway- it might be a little simple for a major project but it can be quite easily coded in VB- and there's room for expansion too

Pong...PONG!!!! Are you crazy...It would probably be considered copyright cause so many people have done it...You could just go to Planetsourcecode.com and copy the game...The teacher would know what was going on before she blinked an eye. Smithy You really should get your brain checked.

I suggest coding a program that encorporates 3D imaging into it because that is pretty technical and will score you good marks.

2 and a half weeks -- less now -- and you want her to 3D imaging???

technical, yes... easy and quick, no.

i think its because we did an earlier assignment thing with just all the feasibility and shit for a project.. that was like the start of the year and worth 20% or something of our assessments..

i think we were supposed to carry on from that you know and make what we proposed or whatever now but we could start from scratch if we wanted...

and overall this project part is worth 35% ands being marked out of 50

and the 10 part is like what weve done since the last part.. if that makes any sense?

documentation wise that is
