Hi we have a major maths test on Wednesday including everything from year 11 and year 12 so far. I am doing lots of revision but keep getting wrong answer for this question. Thinking maybe the answer in back is wrong? It is from Maths in focus book 2 and it is Ex 4.3 QUESTION 3C on page 139
Integration of exponential functions
The question is
Integral 5 at the bottom, 6 at top

( e^x+5 + 2x –3) dx

to 2 dec places

I get 37839.68
But the answers in the book says 37855.68
If anyone can get the right answer plz post and say how, or if you get the answer I keep getting plz tell me. Thank you! J

Is that ex+5 + 2x - 3?

If it is, then integrating that gives

ex+5 + x2 - 3x

If thats the case then the answer in the book is right

[e11 + 62 - 3*6] - [e10 + 52 - 3*5]

Yes it is that! I was integrating the 1st bit wrong.
Thanks so much for helping :)
