A bit dumb but idrk what logbooks are used for

What do u write in them and how much do u write? Do u put any brainstorming stuff in there or is it purely for "I did this on this day blah blah". How do u format them too? Can I use a fluffy blue smiggles diary for my logbook (pls say yes)?

On logbooks ur just meant to record the details on how long you drove for, where u drove, how many kms, and the conditions of the weather. I don't think there's enough space or need to write a description of each time u drive.

u don't bring ur own book for a logbook, they will give u ur own paper logbook and it will have all the tables ready which you need to fill out for each driving seshs

Yeah you’ll def be required to drive in ee2. I think you’ll have to drive to the setting ur novel is based on jk

It also adds credibility to the fact that your EE2/major work was your work.

hey! the logbook is checked by your teachers in internals and there's usually a few things they will check off, so I would honestly usually add pages before assessments that aligned with the guidelines we were told we needed. Other than pre-assessments, I never did recounts of my day or anything, my logbook pretty much just had a bunch of printed out critical articles that I annotated, mindmaps to brainstorm etc. It will only ever get externally checked if they don't believe it was your own work (e.g. ai, plagiarism etc) so make sure to put in sources of where you got things from, or record when you came up with pivotal ideas. Mostly just have fun with it though, it can honestly be really helpful to keep all your things in one place, and I recommend recording any major changes because it can be really helpful when you are trying to write your critique of the creative process, or even reflection statement later on

I'm just starting out EE2 like you, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but in terms of formatting, you should have the date of when you did the things, followed by the logbook entry (including any text, images, excerpts, etc). Your entry should be around a medium-sized paragraph, though I highly advise you to check with your teacher about the formalities and how much detail they want you to put down, because every teacher is different. Also, yea I think you'd be able to use a smiggles diary because NESA doesn't have any formalities about how the logbook is put together, like at all, and at the end of the day, it's not being marked, so the teacher is literally who decides whether to accept it or not
