A(a,0) and B(0,b) are points moving on the x and y axes respectively so that a+b=12. P is the midpoint of the interval joining A and B. Find the locus of P as A and B move along the x and y axes respectively.:confused:

Can someone post a solution please?

midpt of AB
(a/2, b/2)
x=a/2
y=b/2
a+b=12 as given
b=12-a sub it in.
y=12-a/2
y=12 -(a/2), a/2=x
y=12-x
woops i mean y=6-x XD
