living away from home allowance for uni (1 Viewer)

i have a question.
i live on the central coast and want to attend uni next year and i dont think it would be financial for myself to commute to uni innewcaslte where i live by train or car so if i was to move closer to uni in newcastle somewhere into a share house, could i be eledgible for living away from home allowance and rent assistance aslong as my parents are under the income threshold and i didnt have a job.

please advise me on this

yes. if your parents are underneath the income and assets thresholds then you should be immediately eligible for youth allowance, as well as rent assistance if you move out. the parental income threshold for the full rate is very low, however.

Yeh, isn't it a combined amount of like $30,000? :S
