I'm interested in hearing from people who do linguistics as to what it's like, as i'm thinking about doing it next yr.. any comments would be helpful!
I'm considering it mainly cos it sounds interesting and I love languages. I'm going to do german and french at uni, would linguistics complement these well?

Hi,
I can't recommend linguistics @ usyd enough. It's awesome. Especially if you love languages and are interested in questions about language: What is language all about? why, how, and when did language evolve? How, why and when are elements of language used in particular circumstances? These questions and many more can be answered in LNGS 1002
