why cant light penetrate physical objects but pretty well all other forms of EM radiation can??

It depends on two factors, the wavelength (longer wavelengths can pass through small objects, eg radiowaves can pass through trees) and the energy (the more energy the greater the penetrating power, eg gamma rays will pas through a fair distance of concrete)

wavelength is mroe or less related to energy... shorter teh wavelength (for em at least) usually signifies higher energy...

also, it depends on the physical objects as well... certain objects absorbe em at a particular wavelength and are transparent to others...
