Okay. I believe the media has a left wing bias and was curious about other people's opinions on how much such a bias will affect the upcoming election.

Ignore the ACA comment, i have been proven very clearly wrong there.
I don't know whether you've been in a world exclusively dominated by the ABC, but you've got it all wrong my friend.

E.g. Do you sincerely believe the relentless media coverage of the "boat people" issue, is done by the left?

No, but i have to question the lack of media scrutiny over ridiculous fiscal policy, a backstabbing, cheating whore becoming PM and billions wasted on an absurdly regulated school building project (which, by the way, is being investigated by the attorney general - sweet choice for PM ALP.) I also question why i have heard more about Tony Abbot's speedos than i have about hard earned tax dollars wasted on libellous advertising (including paying idiots to confront Abbot in a shopping mall wearing speedos.)

John Howard was crucified by the media for his role in the most wealthy and successful period Australia has ever seen while Kevin Rudd oversaw the worst economic conditions in recent history then decided to tax the industry that saved us from said economic conditions back to the stoneage and Rudd is glorified. Something doesn't add up.

Do you not watch the news? There's been a shitload of coverage of fiscal policy over the past three years. It's not all been critical, it's not all been positive, if you wanted the main media to call it "ridiculous" outright then you were always going to be disappointed.

a backstabbing, cheating whore becoming PM
Again, no media scrutiny? Just last night (I think? Maybe the night before) Laurie Oakes said, in the main election coverage on Channel Nine News, that the apprentices Gillard made her announcement with were "extras in the Julia Gillard production" and then went on to mock her for referring to her as an honoured former Labor PM by saying something to the effect of "Honoured? The way she so unceremoniously knifed him in the back". I think the media put a huge amount of scrutiny into her becoming PM, this didn't just happen with minimal looking at.

The Australian, for a period, had as a front page story about a different example of "wastage" from the school building project, causing Rudd to declare something of a war with the paper.

I also question why i have heard more about Tony Abbot's speedos than i have about hard earned tax dollars wasted on libellous advertising (including paying idiots to confront Abbot in a shopping mall wearing speedos.)
Sure, the media looks at some trivial shit, but that doesn't mean the same as leftist? And a fair amount of coverage has gone into whether they paid the man who confronted Abbott (though that can hardly be called "libellous" or "advertising").

John Howard was crucified by the media for his role in the most wealthy and successful period Australia has ever seen while Kevin Rudd oversaw the worst economic conditions in recent history then decided to tax the industry that saved us from said economic conditions back to the stoneage and Rudd is glorified. Overall, I think it's fair to say you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

I do not claim that the media parallells that of North Korea. Yes, there has been media criticism of the government but John Howard faced far more criticism than Kevin Rudd did, despite being ALOT more successfull. When you say that the Australian had a front page story criticising the education building scheme i'm saying that every other newspaper didn't.

^ John Howard may have been economically 'successful' but he was still a socially conservative, WorkChoices implementing, anti-refugee cunt.

Excluding Andrew Bolt's column the Herald Sun is practically Marx and Engels' love child.

Sky News' right wing bias is so obvious, particularly with David Speers. He makes it too obvious that he's a liberal supporter. Don't forget, Sky News is a sister channel of Fox News in the US... speaks for itself.

Australian news publications basically go like this:

Terrorcrap/Herald Scum/Courier Mail: to the right of Hitler and Anne Coulter's love child

The Australian: extreme right

The Age/SMH: far-right

Green Left Weekly: Open, balanced and fair
