Task Details:
Students are to compose a response that explaores the different valuing and interpretations of King Lear. (1500 words)
As part of your response you are to put yourself in the position of director and explain in detail how you would direct one scene from the play, in order to support a particular reading and position the audience in a particular way. (500 words maximum)
The only productions that we've seen are the 1998 Eyre and the 1964 Brooke so I'm planning on doing the Domestic reading for Eyre and Existential for Brooke, also, I'm planning on describing how I would direct a political (i.e. Feudal vs Renaissance) reading. Any suggestions would be very helpful.
