hey, one of my related text is kev carmody's travellin northTRAVELLIN' NORTH
Travellin' north...beyond that border – pushing boundaries, venturing into inner self, no linear lines, no direction when travelling into your inner self.
Them black clouds is higher than the sky –colour imagery
Travellin' back in time, right across that borderline – emphasising point, repetition of “travelling north” “term travelling indicates journey, travel, in this case inner travel
Thunder lightning come, cloud begin to cry - personification
Storm rain come. cloud begin to cry – - metaphor for the stolen generation, for the grief and loss they endured, last two lines are what the persona has discovered, the chaos of thunder and storm rain is metaphor for the feelings of persona, inner self

Journeyin' north to the country of my childhood
That scrub country where we and us was raised
Where the Moonie River's etched a track through
Every floodgate fence
A track no human construct can ever reverse or erase
Where human constructs are just a passin' phase

That ragin' storm beats hard upon that border
Still 200 miles of rainin' road to go
Steadily the road climbs across that Wallangarra line
The rainin' darkness encompasses my soul
These memories are just one curse of growin' old
kev carmody

“beyond borderline” no linear lines, no direction pushing past boundaries
Travelling not in literal sense, spiritually
Inner journey back into memory lane as last line confirms
Beyond that border/pushing boundaries

thats just my brief deconstruction..... which i havent finished... but am i on the right track?
i need help analysing second verse..... help much appreciated
