is it true that how you do in the 3u exam impacts on your mark in the 4u exam?

i was told that if you nail 3u and dont do so well in 4u, your 4u mark will still be brought up.

i heard it helps align your 4unit...

but i think that might only be for the state toppers list.

even at my school i came first in 4unit (not by much with another guy... but cleared the rest well - i got 88.25 and he got 86.75 as assessment marks) and the teacher gave him the academic award instead of me (just gave me a faculty) but in my report it still says rank 1. You get the mark still..

Well, how much the 4u people get pulled up more depends on how much better they do than the 3u people on average. Something like that.

I think its just to do with the scaleing of the marks when calculating the UAI. If the 4u ppl did better overall in 3u than the 3u ppl, then we get a better scaled mark for the uai calcuations.

but ask laz, he prob knows.
