Is the union access card worth $99? I'm basically guess no but could someone who's been at the university longer fill me/us in?

What do they use the money for? Funding leftist propaganda?

The SRC funds most of the leftist proaganda. The Union is actually sexy time.
It really depends on:
a) if you want to join socieities on campus
b) how much you will drink on campus
c) how many events you think you'll attend
d) how often you'll eat on campus

For me, it's worth it (so was the $250 or whatever it was last year). For others, it may not be.

wasn't it like $350? lol the previous union funds were ridiculous, and IMO, no not worth it.

the $99 for the access card, however, is probably worth it depending on what he ^ said. I'll probably get it for the chocolate bars, 3 coffees per day and the one society I'll join.

I won't get one to discourage myself from drinking so much coffee during uni and eating the crappy union food.

On a semi-related note, what's happening with SRC membership this year? I've read somewhere that you have to pay, but at enrolment the 'Standing up to war and capitalism, bring peace to Iraq by withdrawing all troops and letting the religious factions fight each other with an intensity not before seen' booth had a poster talking about free membership. Anyone know?

if i apply online can i get my sexyphoto on it?
i. After registering, either via the www.accessbenefits.com.au website or in person at The ACCESS Centre, you must collect and activate your card at The ACCESS Centre, Level 1, Manning House or at designated points across the campus. Unless you do so, you will NOT be able to access your benefits.

ii. You will have your photograph taken. Your card will then be then processed and printed with your photograph on the front. This is to minimise the risk of unauthorised use of your card.

The SRC offers membership for free, but if you join as a "supporter" for $25 you get a discount at the bookshop and a showbag in o week.
