I'm interested in the B.Science (Nutrition) course at the moment and I was wondering if HSC chemistry is really important for it? Do they still go through the basics of chemistry at the start or does it move straight to the uni level stuff.
I don't do any sciences at the moment and if its going to be impossible for me to keep up I won't bother applying for it.

Yes. It is. You could do a bridging course maybe. But you might find it very hard going into Nutrition without any science, esp chem.

EDIT: Most chem in 1st yr uni assume a prior knowledge of the subject.

i know several people who are doing nutrition and are doing fundamentals of chemistry in their first year (so haven't had any prior chemistry knowledge). But I agree with tully that you might find it very very hard to do nutrition if you haven't done any hsc science subjects.
